U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man landed on the Moon, was buried with a private ceremony attended only by family and friends.

Born in 1930 and raised in Ohio, Armstrong did his first flight at age six with his father and has a strong desire for flight.

He flew the Navy during the Korean War in the 1950s and joined the U.S. space program in 1962.
